Yes, you can get pregnant even if using an IUD for birth control. IUD’s are only 99% effective. That leaves the other 1% of the women who use IUD’s pregnant. Most doctors say that the pregnancy will most likely result in a miscarriage. There are plenty of women who have chosen to have the IUD removed once they found out they were pregnant and they had healthy babies.
You run the risk no matter what kind of birth control you use with getting pregnant. I personally have been pregnant 3 times all on different birth controls. I’ve had the IUD for a few years now and thankfully no pregnancies as of yet. (knock on wood)
If you are concerned with getting pregnant use a condom with the birth control and this will help cut down your chances. Be safe!
