Yiffing has become known as the term used for sex between two furries. Furries can have sex online and that is called tiny-yiffing. So at this point you are asking yourself what are furries? They are grown adults who dress in mascot animal type costumes or have their bodies decorated with paint and go to conventions, parties, and in some cases have sex. There are whole subcultures on and off line that live this lifestyle. Not all furry communities have sex.

This all started back around 1980 at a science fiction convention. People started to dress as their favorite cartoon or animation characters. Websites that created places to express the created animal personalities were introduced. The idea of dressing in these thousand dollar and up costumes caught on. People get to act out fantasies, be something else, escape or find their animal sides.

Many of the furry lifestylers have discussed that there is no need to define or adhere to a certain sex when yiffing. It has been reported that an average of 43% of furry lifestylers are bisexual.
